Kirtsaeng vs. John Wiley& Sons
Summary- This case involved and Cornell student Supap Kirtsaeng
from Thailand and John Wiley & Sons Inc. the student had family members buy
books overseas and ship them to him because they were much cheaper in Thailand,
he then sold them on eBay and to other classmates. He made a profit of over
$100,000 dollars and clams that Wiley’s right to the books ended when he’s
family members bought them.
The
Kirtsaeng case was argued on October 29, 2012, and a decision is expected in
early 2013.
